On Thursday 8th September, we have arranged a self-drive visit to Rousham Gardens, one of the few English landscaped gardens designed by William Kent (1685-1748) to have escaped alteration. This is an opportunity to walk round the walled gardens, explore the herbaceous borders, visit the fruit trees and pigeon house with like-minded Charlbury Garden Society members. This is a particularly good time to visit with the Dahlias and Michaelmas Daisies in flower.

Ann Starling, the Head Gardener, will meet us at 2pm. We will explore in our own time rather than through a guided tour. There is no shop or tea room so please bring a picnic if you'd like to enjoy refreshments in the grounds. You can find more details about Rousham here, including a video of a tour of the garden with Monty Don.

Tickets to enter Rousham are £8 per person. Unlike previous trips, we will require payment in advance. To reserve your place(s), please contact us at membership@charlburygardensociety.org.uk and we'll provide bank details for you to transfer the money. Advanced payment by cheque will also be possible. As with previous self-drive trips this summer, we'd like to encourage car sharing where possible. We will endeavour to match those requiring a lift with those who are willing to share.
